Make sure to sign up for the Unisource Team for the Autism Awareness Run! Our Team, Lovely Lila’s Legion has a goal of 30 members on our team, which we have almost reached, with 25 members so far. The run, also known as Dylan’s Run, is on Sunday, September 7th at the Summerfest Grounds in Milwaukee County, starting at 10 a.m.
We have already exceeded our goal of raising $1,000 for the run, by raising $2,639. We do not want to stop there. We want to do everything we can to help reach the entire goal of the run, which is $110,000. The event is a 2 mile run or walk to Indian Summer Festival to help raise money for the education and awareness of autism, and all of those people who are affected by the disorder.
Our team is participating in the event to help support the local, grass roots support center, which is the Autism Society of Southeastern Wisconsin, or ASSEW. The ASSEW helps to support programs in the area that help to make the lives of families a little bit easier. We run in support of Lila’s family, the Brunner-Nelson’s, to ensure that they have the backing needed to make it through any of the challenges that they may face in the future. It is with great pleasure that we do our part to support the family, while reminding ourselves that the world is not always as it seems. We enjoy every minute of the event that allows us to celebrate not only Lila’s life, but the life of everyone.
